What Makes the Super Trans Plastic Card Unique?

We've removed most of the limitations of our extemely popular Ultra-Trans plastic cards to bring you "Super Trans " plastic business cards.

SIZE: Let's start with various size options. Since this is a custom produced card it is available in various sizes from our mini size 3.5 x 1, 3.5x1.5 and 2" x 2" as well as standard size 3.5" x 2, and credit card size 3.375" x 2.125. Other sizes available at additional cost.

COLORS: Super Trans cards are available in our standard Ultra-Trans Plastic Colors (Red, Blue, Green, Charcoal and Ice Frost. Cards can be imprinted in a variety of metallic, semi-gloss and matte foil colors on the front or the back of the card.

BLEEDS: Make it even more interesting with full bleeds to the edge of the card. Bleeds are available on the front and back of the card.

Please allow 3-4 weeks for the production of Super Trans Translucent Plastic Foil Stamped Business Cards. 3-4 weeks is the approximate time it takes to 1. review your art and order - 2. typeset and layout your card or preflight your submitted artwork - 3. email your proof - 4. receive your online or fax approval - 5. print, cut, package and ship your cards. Most orders fit in a 3 week time frame but at times due to the mechanical nature of foil stamping, the complexity of print job, errors in art submission, changes to an order in production, long wait times for proof approvals, and delays or errors with shipping companies, there may be additional delays.

Quantities larger than 5,000 may require additional production time. Round corners and special die cuts may add (3) days to your order. Please order early and let us know if you have a specific time frame that you need your cards or special production requirements not listed here.

NOTE: All projections on production time are estimations and should NOT be confused with delivery guarantees.

Options for Super Trans translucent cards include;

a. round corners are available in 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" and 1/2" sizes. Cards can be ordered with different cuts on each corner. (for example: you can order a card with a 1/2" round corner on 3 sides, and a square corner on the bottom right. | example >

b. die cuts are not available for super trans as the plastic is too brittle. Round corners are available.

c. multi-names - shells - quantity discounts | Super Trans cards are normally ordered per name but can be run in 2up and 3 up runs to meet your multi-card requirements. Please call for additional details and pricing on custom multi-name runs, shells and etc. of Super Trans plastic cards.

d. rush orders | Rush orders (minimum 7 days in plant) on Super Trans business cards are available for a minimum $150 fee. Our rush production charge will put your order into preferred order status and at the front of our production cycle. Please keep in mind exact delivery dates cannot be guaranteed due to possible shipment delays, carrier exceptions, etc. Please note that rush production is based upon timely submission of your order, payment, suitable artwork and your final proof approval. (Rush production should be accompanied with 2 day or next day shipping.) Certain areas (Hawaii, Canada, Alaska) do not qualify for rush shipping as well as certain rural areas. Please contact us for specific requirements before you order. (We reserve the right to cancel rush production charges based on an individual order basis and refund your fees paid).

Super Trans plastic business cards are created by impacting a copper die into thin sheets of foil that is then pressed with heat and pressure onto plastic. The metal die that produces these cards has certain limitations, mainly the size of the image to be imprinted. We need the artwork to be set up as line art or as a simple black and white image. Screens and gradients are not recommended as they will not reproduce properly. Very small lines tend to break under pressure and large solid areas more than .5" x .5" tend to have a slightly mottled look and not as smooth as standard inks.

a. Professional Graphics Programs
Use professional graphics programs to setup your digital files, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Quark Xpress. These programs have a bit of a learning curve, but will give you superior results when it comes to high quality output. Please note there is an additional charge to process Microsoft Products for printing. We do not advise the use of Publisher, Powerpoint or Word for the production of professional graphics for professional printing.

b. Standard File Formats
We'd love to receive your digital files in the native file format of the program that you use. If you choose to use another graphics program such as Corel Draw, AutoCad, etc., we require that you save your file in a high resolution standard file format such as, EPS, TIFF, PDF, etc. Don't forget to include your linked graphics, embedded files and fonts used in your documents. Whenever possible convert your fonts to outlines or curves.

c. Color Space
If you are using a raster based product such as Photoshop, please setup your file in grayscale and make all images in black. There is no need to color the image. For vector or page layout files please download our template to get the correct color swatches.

d. Document - Image Size - Resolution
If using a raster based product such as Photoshop, set your resolution to 1,000 DPI minimum | Always set your document size to the same size as your printed piece. If you have bleeds, be sure to add at least .125 to each side. Vector programs (Illustrator, Corel) or page layout programs (Quark, Indesign) are resolution independent, so there no worries about resolution. Placed images however will need to retain the same resolution (1,000 dpi)

e. Bounding Boxes and Crops
Sometimes there are parts of your document that you don't want included on your final print. Use a bounding box to show the area that you want printed on the final document. As an alternative, you can use crop marks as well. Your bounding box could be used to show custom cuts or round corners as well

f. Thin Lines and Artwork Complexity
Foil stamping are not suited for very thin lines or complex detail in art work such as photographs, gradients and screen. To ensure accurate and pleasing results, please limit your your use of very thin lines, small type, etc. on foil stamped products.

g. Linked-Imbedded Images
Your graphics program will either imbed your graphic images or provide links to them. Either way it is a good idea to send us the graphics files along with your document. You can either manually collect the images or have your graphics program collect the files automatically.

h. Fonts, Curves and Outlines
Most professional graphics programs now have the option of converting the fonts you use in a document to curves or outlines. This retains the look and feel of your document and eliminates the possibility of our production personnel using the wrong font when we print your document. Always make sure you save your original document on your disk, make a duplicate of that file and do the conversions to your duplicate files. That will allow you to go back and make type changes if you need to at a later date. Conversion to curves or outlines eliminates any issues surrounding fonts used in your project, guaranteeing that whatever type layout you see is the same you'll get when we go to press. If your application does not support this feature, please make sure that when you submit your digital file to us, you include any and all fonts used on your document.

i. File Compression
We accept compressed files in WINZIP, and Stuffit formats. EXE files are not accepted. Compressed files are subject to the same guidelines as regular files. Please inform us of the original files and formats that are compressed in the file.

Is your file larger than 20 megabytes after compression? We advise you send very large files via standard US Mail, UPS or FEDEX. We accept files on CD and DVD. Send your digital files with a black and white, color laser or inkjet proof to us c/o : Art Department.

Your new Super Trans business cards will be a great addition to your business and marketing campaigns. Great care has been taken in the preparation of your new product and the following are a few pointers to get the most out of your new cards.

Super Trans cards are made out of high quality plastics. Though it is a super tough product that is completely water resistant, it is not designed for excessive abuse. We advise against leaving your cards in direct sunlight for long periods of time, inside of extremely hot environments (car interiors in the summer). And if you choose to order your card with square corners, watch out for the sharp edges with children and your co-workers.

Treat them with care by enclosing them in a nice business card case, available from Dallas Card Works. Show it off in a dynamic desktop business card display, Horizontal and Vertical card holders are available in clear, black, metal, wood, leather and etc. Don't let your business card make the presentation all by itself. Consider adding a pocket folder, and matching stationery to complete the family
